Oceana Wins Foodcorp Competition Appeal

Christmas offerings oft go unappreciated but Francois Kuttel, the energetic CEO of the Oceana, is pleased indeed with his, the Competition Appeal Court ruling in favour of the diversified fishing group’s R425 million plan to acquire the fishing division of Foodcorp Limited.

It has been an uncertain two years for Oceana in that as the Competition Court and the Competition Tribunal’s conditional approval for the acquisition was not acceptable to Oceana hence its appeal to the higher authority on 8 September, followed by the favourable ruling – three judges concurring – six days before Christmas.
