South Africa’s longest-serving fishmonger and Kalk Bay legend in his own right, Kenny Hart, passed away at the age of 88 on 1 September 2021. He is fondly remembered for the many anecdotal stories about him as a real character who was part of the fishing community since the 1950s. For instance, he would put out towels on the balcony of his Kalk Bay home which overlooked the harbour, which was his sign that he was in a position to buy fish from the returning fishermen.
