Oil and Gas Activists Win Goldman Environmental Prize

Two South African environmental activists have won the prestigious 2024 Goldman Environmental Prize.

Nonhle Mbuthuma and Sinegugu Zukulu have received the Goldman Environmental Prize for their efforts to stop seismic testing for oil and gas on the Wild Coast. They did this by energising their community to assert their rights to protect the marine environment.
