Progress on Shark Conservation in the Indian Ocean

Shark conservation has been advanced thanks to an agreement reached in April by members of the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC). New implementation guidance for management procedures for bigeye and skipjack tunas has also been agreed, but there still is little action to end illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
