Processors to Take on More Responsibility for Pollution

New regulations to tackle plastic pollution will almost certainly have repercussions for fish processors and canners. If a company sells product and that product is packaged in plastic, paper, metal or glass then the Extended Producer Responsibility regulations apply.

Last week, the Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries gazetted new regulations that require producers to take responsibility for what happens to their products post-consumer usage.
