Cape Hake to Fill the Global Groundfish Gap

Cape hake is set for a strong year with a 4% increase in the Total Allowable Catch (TAC) and robust demand, says the South African Deep Sea Trawling Industry Association (SADSTIA). But in the final year of South Africa’s hake fishery’s MSC certification, the pressure is on its’ members to ensure all vessels and crews report accurately their interactions with endangered, threatened and protected (ETP) species, amongst other things.
