Namibian Marine Phosphate (NMP) has won a court battle against the Minister of Environment and Tourism, Pohamba Shifeta. In September 2016 he set aside the environmental clearance certificate that had given the company the go-ahead to start marine phosphate mining off the coast of Namibia.
