Tracking a Southern Right Whale on Her 10000km Journey

Wow! A Southern Right whale tagged in Walker Bay, South Africa, and her calf, have made their way to Argentina.

The Mammal Research Institute Whale Unit of the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences at the University of Pretoria, has reported that one of four southern right whales they tagged in October 2021, has crossed the South Atlantic.

The cow-calf pair was tagged in Walker Bay on 12 October. Apparently the tag stopped transmitting on 14 December but was back online yesterday, 10000km away.
