Progress Report. Fishing Vessel Safety Audit

The progress of SAMSA’s ongoing four-month nationwide Fishing Vessel Safety Audit campaign was unpacked in Cape Town this morning where 60 fishing vessels have undergone inspection. The well-attended event, on the eve of celebrating the annual International Day of the Seafarer, was also an opportunity to acknowledge the MFV Lepanto tragedy just more than a year ago in which 11 crew members lost their lives.
