Parliament has been accepting comments and hosting public hearings about the proposed Gas Bill this month (August 2026). While industry participants support the Bill’s objective of modernising the regulatory framework, they agree that it needs refining to accommodate the emerging gas market instead of discouraging investment in liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure. Eco-justice organisation, The Green Connection, has a different view but agrees there are several things wrong with the proposed Bill.
