Greater Risk to Algoa Bay. Offshore Bunkering Moratorium Lifted

The lifting of the offshore bunkering moratorium in Algoa Bay from 1 April 2022 will no doubt raise the ire of conservationists who fear more oil spills. But the South African government is of the view that the potential for damaging the marine environment, marine species and seabirds, has to be weighed against the economic benefit to the marine economy.
