Located on the north bank of the Umgeni River in Durban is the Beachwood Mangroves Nature Reserve. This 76 hectare reserve has the largest population of mangrove trees in the Durban area.

Durban’s Beachwood Mangroves Nature Reserve suffered extensive damage following the floods this year, but a plan is now in place to attempt to rehabilitate the area.
