The latest Fisheries Status report in its hard copy format, is not yet in the public domain. Some of its content was however recently discussed at a Parliamentary Portfolio Committee meeting with officials from the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment.
The Fisheries Status report is usually presented as a glossy document that is presented to and scrutinised by the commercial fishing industry on publication. In the past it has been mostly favourably received, but questions have also been raised by both the industry and fishermen.
