Namibia’s government has begun another bidding process for the sale of 5000 metric tonnes of Hake. This has raised once again the debate about the sale of quota to others that are not bona fide fishing right holders. Namibia’s fishing associations say the unintended consequences of government objective quota auctions is causing more harm than good. It is also contrary to the law.
