The Western Cape High Court has delivered the judgement for the court case brought by 17 companies over the allocation of commercial fishing rights in the 2015/2016 fishing rights allocation process (FRAP 2015/2016) in the horse mackerel fishery. The Minister wanted all existing Category B right holders to stop fishing until litigation has been finalised, but one of the right holders refused to accept this. The court agreed this would do more harm than good.
