Mozambique had a tumultuous start to the year but there are now green shoots indicating that the worst might be over if the new government can control the security situation which continues to threaten stability. During the latter part of the year the country has been receiving considerable help from outside sources to enable its recovery. A well-constructed National Development Plan identifies where the focus will be pinpointed over the next two decades whilst at the same time promoting environmental sustainability amongst its many other objectives.
