Nueva Pescanova to Divest of Mozambican Interests

Pescamar is the long-time Mozambican-based subsidiary company of Spanish fishing conglomerate, Nueva Pescanova. The word is now out that it wants to offload the subsidiary which it now considers a non-strategic asset as Pescamar’s 26 vessels only land about 3000 tons in catches a year. Compared to the average 15500 tons landed by Argentinian vessels or the more than 21000 tons landed in Namibia, this is just a drop in the ocean, so to speak.
