Legislation for Safe Navigation Signed Off

New legislation will improve the safety of navigation in South Africa’s territorial waters.

This week President Cyril Ramaphosa signed into law the Hydrographic Act.

This will provides for the establishment of the Hydrographic Office as a unit within the South African Navy. It is responsible for the safety of navigation in South Africa’s exclusive economic zone and the internal waters of the Republic.
