The Namibian Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform, the Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs, and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Safety and Security (particularly the Namibian Police water wing) are working together to combat illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing activities in Namibia’s Exclusive Economic Zone.
Consultations are underway between the three ministries which are expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the next few months.
