Turning Point or Talk Shop?

Namibia’s inaugural Fisheries Indaba took place in Walvis Bay in the first week of September. The event was deemed to be an opportunity to thoroughly review the fisheries sector since the country’s Independence, as well as determine future development of one of the country’s key economic sectors. It brought together stakeholders from the industry, government, fishing right holders, fishermen, coastal communities, traditional authorities, civil society, and development partners.
