Clean Rivers Campaign, New Tool to Help Environment

A call to KwaZulu Natal’s eThekwini Municipality to help restore the province’s Umbilo River, is timeous. It coincides with a Clean Rivers Campaign launched this month while at an international level, a new tool has been developed to help governments meet their national environmental reporting obligations.

The Clean Rivers Campaign led by the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS), advocates for citizens to clean up rivers and water ecosystems, as part of dedicating their 67 minutes of goodwill during Mandela Month. It also wants residents living near rivers to practice active citizenry by taking a stand against the pollution of rivers.
