The Chinese government’s Belt & Road Initiative to expand China’s global footprint, has implications for sub Saharan Africa. The Belt and Road plan involves roads, rail lines, dams, airfields, pipelines, cargo centres and telecommunications systems. Already we have seen investment in Mozambique and Namibia.
