An interesting technology using farmed seaweed and green hydrogen feedstocks is about to be tested with a view to providing alternative fuels for hard-to-abate sectors.
Leonel Fernandes is a well-known figure in South Africa’s fisheries circles. He is also currently Group CEO of African Marine Products (Pty) Ltd and is Managing Director of V&A Investments. This private investment company is providing the funding for SeaH4, the developer of the technology, to install and operate a test facility in Pepper Bay, Saldanha on the Cape west coast. The investment secures the financier a 7% shareholding in the business.
